Victory is mine!

I interviewed a couple of weeks ago for another position. It had awesome hours 4 am to 12pm and 10:30 to 7pm. No traffic on there way there!! So when the hiring manager called to offer I would be crazy not to take it. I start on the 25th of this month. I am super excited for new opportunities. I have been with my current department a long time, and I think it is time to move on and grow. Honestly the new hours will help me a lot, I will be able to get away and test, after 1pm. AND I get to spend time with my kids. I am really happy.

I have already told my boss, and started to clean out my desk. I have to shred 5 five years of telephone logs and meeting notes. I just have to put together a manual or what I do and how, because you know bosses really never realize all the things you do, lol. I am truly stoked and look forward to working for my new manager.

Have you updated Firefox yet?

If you have not updated yet, you will be very surprised when you finally do. There are a lot of changes. Don’t get me wrong all of the changes I love, it just gets some getting used to. The biggest change is the looks, the Firefox button now contains all of the menu items, it makes it easier for me since it is all in one place.

The bookmarks you can now manage with one click. They are located on the right side under the search bar. The reload and stop button are now one in the same. The home button moved to the right side, after the search field. I am still getting used to this.

The most awesome of all things the new app tabs are awesome. You can basically leave all your favorite sites open all the time and not take up all that valuable tab space. You can also all of your tabs by right clicking and selecting Reload All Tabs.

Firefox also has improved speeds and they revised some of the JavaScript managing and also now supports ECMAScript5 and building the brand new JägerMonkey JavaScript engine.

So if you have not updated go and do it, you will have a prettier Firefox and improved performance.

Bite Me

We went to Borders last night and they were having a going out of business sale. Most of the books were 60% off. I was a little shocked to see that there were more people at the 10% off sale at the Wetseal next door, sigh. Now days looking cute is better than being smart…

We found Bite Me the wonderful cookbook by Julie Albert and Lisa Gnat. I was looking through it on the way home it it looks pretty good. I already have bookmarked some of the receipes that I want to try. I also bought Head First Rails by O’Reily. I have been dying to learn some rails, lol
