Nothings Broken

When I first started to venture into the world of hair bow making, I never realized how hard it was to come by a creative tutorial that was free. I find it awful that you have to pay someone 5 bucks for something that was freely available, just hard to come by due to not knowing the correct terminology.

I will be breaking this down into a series of post to make it easier for myself. This is part 1 and I will cover supplies and suppliers.
Bow Making Templates:

No Bow No Go templates; also called TNT (Top Notch Templates).  NoBowNoGo.com I have these templates and they are so easy to use.
Brilliant Bow Maker bow making system. Littlepinkladybug33.etsy.com I have read plenty of good reviews on these templates.

Sally’s Beauty Jumbo Clip: Use this to told your bow together while you sew or tie it together.

Sealing Ribbon Ends
Woodburner tool: How I Cut & Heat Seal in 1 Step,

Lighter: Simply run the lighter flame over the ribbon ends. A second should be enough. Caution some ribbon may  be highly flammable.

Lining Clips
High temperature hot glue gun and glue sticks, you can get these at Walmart, Joann’s, Michaels or any craft store.
Specialty Tapes double-sided tape. The tape is very durable and will save you  tons of time: SpecialtyTapes.net
Sealah double-sided fabric tape, I have not used this but I have read goo reviews: Jodeesinc.com

Non-slip product for clips: I get mine from NoBowNoGo.com
Others have used Duck Hold-It carpet tape. I have seen the tape at Walmart and Home Depot

Sharp Scissors or a Rotary cutter. Tutorial from the PurlBee here.
Self-healing cutting mat. You can get these at Walmart, Joann’s, Michaels or any craft store. If you use your Joann’s Coupon you can get a decent deal.

To Sew or Tie? I sewed my bows, it made the bow feel a bit more stable. I know others who tie and the bows are study as well. Its a matter or preference.

Lady Gaga – Speechless

School is going fairly well so far. I already finished my first class, two weeks ahead of schedule. I am going to taking my IT Fundamentals classes next. I wanted to be sure to get my CompTIA certs before the end of the year. I have to take a couple of pre assesments as well, but I am not too stressed.

I was browsing Flickr and look at this wonderful picture I found. It was made using the Silhouette. I LOVE my Silhouette!@! The flickr group pool serves as wonderful inspiration of things to make. I have a BUNCH of projects lined up for my silhouette, but I have not found the time to complete them yet. Hopefully its soon.
