Easy Smokey Eye

I found a wonderful video via The broke Socialite.com about achieving an easy smokey eye. I have always had issues getting my eye “smokey” enough. I mix a ton of colors and still not end up with a smokey eye which is annoying.

I recently bought a bunch of new makeup and I am looking forward to using the tips in the video.

This book is from E.L.F. that are sold at Target.

I got these wonderful colors from Coastal Scents.

I am selfish

Disclosure: Gift card provided by BlogHer and HomeGoods http://goo.gl/rVmij

I was provided with a $25 gift card to HomeGoods to buy a gift for a friend, a family member… or myself. I decided that I deserved a gift since I did so good in school this term :)

I went to my HomeGoods, which is my favorite store. I love that they have a permanent clearance section that always has the cutest desk accessories and stationary. They also have wonderful cooking supplies. I have been wanting one of those tiered serving dishes(that all the cool bloggers have). I found a really pretty one, it was not tiered but it was so pretty. It was only $9.99 that is a real steal for something as pretty as this.

I shopped around for something else to buy and I found the prettiest jewelry holder. It is baby blue with gold highlights.

I am in love :) Its was only $9.99 as well. I had enough left over to buy some organic lollipops for the kids, see I am not totally selfish :D

Puppy Rescue

I had some days off from work to enjoy Thanksgiving. I wanted to take advantage to finish up studying for my upcoming CompTIA exam. We woke up to a bunch of barking on the side of the house around 3 am. It sounded like a dog barking at our chihuahua that was in our backyard. The husband went out and brought out dog inside. We went back to bed and forgot about the barking dog. I had a nice day of studying and a pretty relaxing day. When my brother got home, we heard a whole bunch of barking and growling that sounded like it was coming right from our living room windows. He ran inside, we all laughed for a good couple of minutes and then realized we still heard the barking and the growling. We could not see a dog nearby, we went outside and found that there was a huge mean dog UNDER our house. The dog was running out from under the house and coming to the front yard to bark at us. We stayed inside hoping that the dog would eventually leave. We had an awesome thanksgiving & my turkey was super yummy. :)

At the end of the day we noticed that the dog had not barked so we decided to try and take a peak under the house, that is when we heard the puppies. The big barking dog just had puppies under my house. I was a little bit concerned about how cold it might be under the house, so we decided to call Animal Control. They came out the next day and placed a trap, in our heads once the dog was trapped we would just put our hands in the vents and pull the puppies out. Yeah RIGHT!!
The dog ended up being caught by the trap around noon and we got to work on getting those puppies out.

We had to find out where they were and it was so hard to see under there without a flashlight. None of our flash lights worked, go figure. I had a bright idea and started taking pictures of under the house. I took tons and tons of pictures. We finally spotted them towards the front of our house right under the living room. A long distance from the entrance. UGH!

We needed to remove the vent cover and use something to pull the puppies closer to us.

So we came up with a bunch of contraptions to use. We tapped a broom to a shovel and the end had a plastic scraper, to gently scrap them towards us. I am sure our neighbors thought we were crazy.

After 3 hours of trying this we came to the conclusion that someone had to go under the house, my brother ended up volunteering and started to go under. Well, he hit a level where the floor and dirt seemed to rise, so he was unable to continue.

We came to the conclusion that we needed to break a brick from the house in order to be able to fully place an arm in there to grab the puppies.

We broke the brick and were very disappointed to find out that every time we got one close enough to us they would scoot on back to the pack, making our rescue efforts useless.

We came to the conclusion that the whole pack was staying down there, so we fed the mom and gave her food before letting her go. We knew she would be very, very mad at us, so we took precautions when letting her go. We tied some ribbon on the release lever and pulled in from inside the house, which failed!! lol so the husband ended up standing on the cage to open it.

The whole day was extremely hilarious like a bad episode of The Wonder Pets, LMAO

So yeah, there is a huge ass dog under my house that barks at people walking by.

Found this rather interesting…
