I will be updating this post this week. I am sorry for the delay.

Here is the Pandigital Novel. I bought it from Bed, Bath and Beyond. I had been wanting an ereader for a while. I was not prepared to pay 200 bucks to “just” read books. I found that the Novel was built with android and that was a definite plus. It was already made to have the ability to check your e-mail and browse the internet, half of the work was already done.
I researched for ways to modify the Novel to make it an Android pad. I used the help provided by Slate Droid to turn my Novel into my baby, I mean an Android pad. I am able to do some many things with it.

It was not hard, it was just frustrating at first, but once I read and understood the goal, I realized that I was doing it right the whole time. The first step was to create a Back and a Home button. I used the Volume Button hack to do this. I also had to install an alternate home launcher since Android was already installed but Novel was using its own interface.
Think of it like using wordpress themes, the look changes but it’s still using the same code. In this case you are removing the Novel home screen, thus having access to the other programs. It involved using Command Prompt and pushing some files over to the Novel. I kept getting frustrated because I thought I was doing it wrong because it really did not give me a confirmation that it was completing or doing anything at all. But I ended up adding the code more than once, but everything turned out A-ok.
I was able to get panda home installed as well Google voice and the most important of them all Google market.

I was able to get access to the market. From there I was able to get Pandora and Slacker! I am totally happy.

Google Voice!!
I am able to use Google Voice anywhere I can get Wifi!!!!!! I am looking into making my cell into a hot spot.

Well I am off to bed, I am exhausted.

I plan on doing exactly what you did to your PDN.
How did you get Google voice exactly?
thanks for your help!!
your wallpaper is pretty btw
Sorry for the suuuuper late response Sarah, but I downloaded google voice as a apk file and loaded it onto the PDN.
It seems like a REALLY involved process to get a PDN to the point where you have it hacked.
I really want to learn how though..I would be so appreciative if you could explain all I have to do to get Google Voice I am registered at Slate Droid already.
my email is **@yahoo.com or just post instructions here and I’ll check back.
THANK YOU!! I’m so excited to try this out.
Google Voice was added when I added Panda Home. I will try and get a tutorial up by the end of the week. It can sound complicated but was not too difficult.
I’m just learning how to use my pdn and I’m not too computer shabby. Any instructions for dummies? Thanks, jenn
